OCR is the recognition of machine printed type faces. ICR is able to recognise different human handwriting. It is a technology that has improved considerably over the last 15 years and Softsys has been using the technology for form processing. ICR technology help to process data at higher speed and sometimes the technology is used to as second entry method to increase data accuracy. Data Entry and Data Processing through OMR: OMR, stands for Optical Mark Reader or Optical Mark Recognition. Effectively a technology that scans paper forms and recognises the marks made on the form. Marks are typically made with pencil and read with Infra Red (IR) LEDs although Visible Light (VLR) LEDs are also in used to recognise pen marks. We use OMR technology to process examination forms.
